THE KISSING SOUND of MYANMAR (what is it?)

Join me: https://ift.tt/1WRc70e If you come to Myanmar, then prepare yourself to hear the kissing sound in restaurants, on random street corners and pretty much anywhere you go around this country! At first, you might think it's an inappropriate form of 'cat calling,' but in reality, it's simply a way to get someone's attention. All you do is simply make a kissing sound two or three times in the direction of the person you want to speak with, and they instantly turn around -- like magic! The kissing sound is one of the most unique things about Burmese culture, and honestly speaking, it makes ordering anything in a restaurant a lot more fun!! The bigger moral of this story is about having cultural awareness and etiquette when traveling in foreign countries. You will often see or experience things that may not be normal to you, but are completely regular in other cultures. And if you ask me, that's the beauty of travel!
