As Tokyo 2020 approaches, Singapore’s Olympians are in the final phase of their preparations. With the games already postponed by a year, an air of uncertainty hangs over the world’s most prestigious sporting event, as the number of COVID cases spike in Japan. An Olympics Less Ordinary looks at three Olympic athletes in the final days of their training, as they get ready to leave Singapore for the Games. It is an intimate look into what it means to be an athlete representing Singapore for sport’s highest honour, despite the risks that the pandemic could present. We explore how challenging training has been due to the pandemic, and what the uncertainty and added risks mean for our athletes mentally.
