Would you date someone if his/her autistic sibling is “part of the package”? Andreana Tay, 27, has had dates call her sister Audrey a “burden” who should have been aborted or sent to a home. Audrey, 18, has Autism Spectrum Disorder, is non-verbal and has Global Developmental Delay. Andreana knows that making Audrey’s care her lifelong responsibility could mean staying single herself forever - unless Mr Right comes along who accepts them both as a package deal. She’s even quit her career in the Singapore Navy to have more time for her sister. Andreana currently shares the responsibility of her sister’s daily care with their helper. But for the long term, Audrey’s future is in Andreana’s hands. Her priority?
