Every year, a husband and wife couple, Zahid and Shahnur travel over 800 kilometres from their home in Lahore to Naltar Bala, a village 9,500 feet above sea level in the heady air of Pakistan’s Naltar Valley. The couple founded the Parha Likha School for the children of the Gujar community. Every year after winter fades, the entire village comes together to set up tents for classrooms. The staff have overcome inclement weather, local hostilities, and a lack of resources to ensure that the children of this valley continue to receive an education. But tragedy strikes at the most unexpected time. Will the couple ever achieve their dream of seeing an educated Pakistan?
