When night falls, Nicky Bay goes on his weekly search for an elusive spider that has never been spotted in Singapore before. The software developer has been pursuing macro photography for the past 13 years. His website has more than 35,000 photos of spiders and insects found around the world, and he’s even published a book on spiders. The second story follows ophthalmology resident Nicole Chan as she juggles clinical shifts, medical examinations and her afterwork pursuit with the Orchestra of the Music Makers. As a volunteer violinist, she performs up to four times a year. But the pandemic has brought about even greater challenges for the orchestra. Amid long hours of training and studying, Nicole prepares for her first concert of the year.
