Tens of thousands of farmers are on the warpath in India. They have marched to the nation's capital, calling on the Modi led government to scrap the new agricultural reforms which they claim will devastate their incomes and take away their livelihoods. A large majority of small and marginal farmers are now struggling to make ends meet. Some have even committed to suicide. Many of them are also saddled with huge debts due to fallen incomes from agriculture. They believe that the new farm laws will make their financial situation a lot worse than it already is. For the last 8 months they’ve camped out on Delhi's borders in the midst of a raging pandemic asking for the laws to be rolled back. But will their continued protests in the midst of a global health crisis force the Narendra Modi government to repeal the law? What will happen if the laws remain in place?
