At 18, Lee (not his real name) was caught for sexual-related offences and sentenced to 21 months’ probation. He was assigned to an officer with the Probation and Community Rehabilitation Service of the Ministry of Social and Family Development, who monitored Lee’s progress as the youth learnt to handle his sexual urges through tactics such as hitting the gym and cold showers.
