Tempered glass is used everywhere from screen protectors for phones to cookware, oven doors, kitchen hobs, shelves, and shower panels. At least 530 glass panels were reported to have suddenly shattered over the past 10 years. In May 2018, a glass shower panel shattered all over a toddler and in January 2020, a glass table exploded 30 minutes into a steamboat meal.
