Taste These Traditional Snacks At Tanglin Halt Before They’re Gone

Completed in 1965, Tanglin Halt is one of the oldest HDB estates in Singapore. It was one of the districts in the first satellite town, Queenstown, planned by the British. As part of the largest Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), demolition of Tanglin Halt starts in 2021. Other than the residents, hawkers from Tanglin Halt Market, Tanglin Halt Food Centre and the neighbourhood shops will need to move. In this episode of On The Red Dot, we visit some of the hawkers and shops in Tanglin Halt that have been around for over five decades. 00:00 Tanglin Halt Original Pancake, Tanglin Halt Market 00:35 Tanglin Halt Delicious Duck Noodles, Tanglin Halt Market 00:49 Wei Yi Laksa, Tanglin Halt Market 01:22 Hock Ann Confectionery, block next to Tanglin Halt Food Centre WATCH the full episode of #OnTheRedDot’s Goodbye, Tanglin Halt: Bidding Farewell To Some Of Singapore's Oldest Flats: https://youtu.be/03tA_Ow7sTg ALSO WATCH: Where are the Sungei Road Thieves Market vendors now? https://youtu.be/DNcglGfTVVc How Has Singapore's Nightlife Coped With COVID-19? https://youtu.be/ATG4AbDyOEM End Of The Road For These Beauty World Centre Shops?: https://youtu.be/p11CESMRLhA For more, SUBSCRIBE to CNA INSIDER! https://cna.asia/insideryoutubesub Follow CNA INSIDER on: Instagram: https://ift.tt/2C3sZiR Facebook: https://ift.tt/2PPEuNA Website: https://cna.asia/cnainsider
