The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is one of the first coronavirus vaccines to be approved and used in multiple countries such as the US, Britain and Singapore. Other vaccines available include Moderna, used in the US, and China-made Sinovac, not yet used by any countries as of January 7, 2021. Biotechnology company BioNTech is also collaborating with China’s Fosun Pharma and COVAX on making the vaccine available to more. While vaccines typically take 10-15 years to develop, the COVID-19 vaccines have been fast-tracked, raising questions of safety.
