I'm still on this incredible 3-week road trip around Turkey, and today we expectedly found ourselves in an AMAZING city called Diyarbakir -- in the South Eastern part of the country. We did not originally plan to come here because of recent events and security issues that (we thought) would be unsafe... BUT it turns out that Diyarbakir is my new favorite place in Turkey! The culture is so raw and authentic -- it really feels like I've traveled back in time. Nothing is modernized. Nobody is seen on their smartphones, or in a rush to get somewhere. Everything is seemingly the same to how you would find it hundreds of years ago, and I really love that! And the best part about Diyarbakir are the medieval city walls that are the longest in the world after the Great Wall of China! WHAT A PLACE!
