Protesters who fled the crackdowns in Hong Kong for neighboring Taiwan are focused on a new way to combat China's tightening grip of their city—build an economy that shuts them out. VICE News meets the activists trying to build a rival "yellow economy”—an association of pro-democracy businesses in Hong Kong that all support the movement. The so-called “yellow economic circle” also extends beyond Hong Kong’s borders. Railey, a protester who fled to Taiwan, is working with his fellow protesters to support the efforts of Sup Nin, an organization focused on providing business opportunities that better the welfare of protesters. But Angela, one of Sup Nin’s founders, says challenging the world’s second-largest economy in the world of business is just as hard as it is on the streets.
