The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation of the tourism sector around the world. In Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) wants to help stakeholders embrace this transformation while helping them to stay afloat during this period. The two-pronged effort includes moving their attractions and activities online (virtual tourism) while using data to create new and improved experiences for tourists. In this podcast, Money Mind’s Jonathan Peeris speak to STB’s Chief Technology Officer Quek Choon Yang, CEO of popular night club Zouk, Andrew Li and Dr Cheng Wen Haur, Deputy CEO of Wildlife Reserves Singapore which runs the Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, River Safari and the Night Safari. Both companies have developed virtual activities during the Circuit Breaker and have even moved into new areas previously not associated with their brand.
