15-year-old Akhlas ran away from her ISIS captors after months of confinement. In 2015, RT Documentary director Anastasia Trofimov spoke to the Yazidi girl while filming ‘Victims of ISIS’ at a refugee camp in Kurdistan. In the full interview, Akhlas described how she and dozens of other girls from Sinjar were caught by Islamic State militants, as well as her life in captivity, escape, and trauma.
