Mr Muhyiddin Yassin rose to the pinnacle of power in Malaysia on 1st March 2020, following a political coup which toppled the government of PAKATAN HARAPAN on 24 February 2020. From a reformist multiracial coalition form of government, power has now been transferred to a nationalist and conservative alliance, made up of a loose coalition of Malay based parties known as Perikatan Nasional or the National Alliance. But before he has the time to steady the ship and steer the nation forward, Mr Muhyiddin has to confront the biggest health crisis the country has ever seen.
