It is (by far) the most popular sport in the country, and they have sent more players to the big leagues than any other country besides the United States. That is beyond impressive for a country of just 11 million! Baseball is seen as a gateway for many families to escape poverty, as teenagers as young as 16 years old have the chance to sign multi-million-dollar contracts. Each one of the 30 MLB teams have a baseball academy in the D.R., and I was lucky enough to be invited to the Arizona Diamondbacks facility and was very impressed by the talent of these young kids. As a former baseball player and huge fan, I truly had a blast shooting this video over the last few days around the Dominican Republic and I hope you enjoy watching!!
