Foraging is a popular pastime in China’s Yunnan Province, where it’s common for people to pick wild greens for cooking. Yunnan is one of China’s most biodiverse regions, home to 52% of the country’s plant species. We learned a bit about foraging from food influencer Dianxi Xiaoge, who taught us all about shuixiangcai, a perfumy green that thrives near water, and made two dishes with it. This video is the last of our six-episode collaboration with Dianxi Xiaoge. With over 11 million followers worldwide, Dianxi Xiaoge is known for her cooking videos showcasing the traditional food of Yunnan Province. We went to live with her for a week and learned how to make her most iconic dishes.
