It has essentially been the most dangerous city in the world for the last 3 decades, due to the ongoing Civil War which began started in 1991. Tourism is almost nonexistent, and if you do come, then you must take precautions and follow the rules given to you at all times. BUT once I have looked past all the military checkpoints and I've gotten over my initial anxiety of being here, I am seeing an amazing culture with some of the kindest people I've ever met. And shall we talk about the beaches? Somalia has the longest coastline in Africa with some of the most stunning coastlines I've ever seen! I won't say anything further, as I'll let the video speak for itself.
