
Mariano Rubin De Celis came to the US in 2016 with the dream of becoming a set designer after a successful career in his home country of Argentina but quickly discovered that the life of a creative was not a lucrative profession for an immigrant in New York City. VICE meets Rubin and his husband to talk about the successes and challenges he's faced as an immigrant making ends meet as a nightlife performer while trying to break into a competitive and creative industry.
