In the ongoing protests in Hong Kong, protestors go through great lengths to protect their identity. And the most commonly used tactic is using medical face masks to cover their faces. But in an emergency ruling Chief Executive Carrie Lam banned the use of these facemasks or other facial coverings during public meetings, unlawful assemblies and riots, bypassing the Hong Kong legislature through a colonial-era law. Though this ban was designed to quell violence, Hong Kong protestors have not reacted well to this ruling, to say the least, as violence continues to this day. In order to understand how Hong Kongers are reacting to this ruling, our Asian Boss team in Hong Kong hit the streets to talk with them.
